On August 7th, we celebrated the 20th edition of the Condesa de Villapadierna Cup, the most iconic tournament in the history of Villa Padierna and one of the most important events on the Costa del Sol golf calendar.

The event was fully booked weeks in advance, with nearly a hundred players participating. The predicted heatwave eased off, allowing participants to enjoy a fantastic golf tournament, followed by a spectacular cocktail reception at the Terrace of Sushi 99, one of the eight restaurants at the Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Hotel.

In the first men's category, Marek Sindelar emerged as the champion, with Philip Katan securing second place. Joaquín Navarrete won the second men's category, with Jose Maria Ybarra as the runner-up. Patricia Hinojosa was crowned champion in the women’s category, and Javier Pérez won the overall Scratch category.

The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by our Golf Director, Jorge Querol, and attended by the Arranz family—Felipe, Ricardo, and Nicolás—with Mr. Ricardo Arranz himself presenting the awards to the top finishers.

Flamingos Golf, the tournament's host course, was in excellent condition for this anniversary edition. Three years ago, Villa Padierna embarked on a journey toward sustainability, aiming to reduce water consumption by 50% by changing the type of grass, naturalizing areas outside of play, and modifying our irrigation patterns. The results have been outstanding.

Congratulations to the champions, and thank you to all the players for participating, many of whom are veterans of this tournament, in Villa Padierna's most significant event of the year.
